About Us
Explore Ozaukee serves the families and businesses of Ozaukee County along with interested tourists visiting the Ozaukee County area.
The idea for this site is derived from my own desire to know what’s going on around the area. I have lived here for the majority of my life and, when I was younger, enjoyed traveling to Milwaukee and Chicago on weekends. Now that I have a family, I prefer to stay close to home and find fun and exciting things to do right here.
When I first started looking online for things to do locally, I realized there IS a lot going on in the area on any given weekend, but no single resource was available that I could reference to find it all. Thus, I created Explore Ozaukee.
My husband and I also used to own a local restaurant and understand how difficult, confusing and expensive advertising can be. So we also decided to help our Ozaukee County businesses by offering a different and inexpensive form of advertising on both the web site and our weekly subscriber newsletter.
We’ve put together some of our ideas on this current version of the web site, but really, we’re leaving it up to our subscribers to help direct us. Maybe you’d like to sound off on our blog; maybe you’d like to see reviews of local businesses and events; or maybe you’d like to see some local news. Whatever it is, please let us know and we’ll do what we can to add it to the site. We want to be your preferred web site when you’re looking for things to do in the land of Oz!
